    Hi there.

I’ve added the MailChimp bundle to my installation of OroCRM and I’m struggling to get it to work. I guess either I’m using it incorrectly or it’s not working.

I’m using OroCRM version 1.8.2 and MailChimp version 1.4.4.

I’ve followed the instructions here, set up the integration (with 2-way sync enabled) and set up a marketing list, linked it to a list in MailChimp, set it up to synchronize and have run the sync from the integrations page. I’d expect that a segment would be created in MailChimp and the contacts on the Oro marketing list would be added to the MailChimp list, but none of this has happened. It appears as though the sync didn’t work properly as the list shows the following message:

This list is linked to “Oro Segment” segment of “Simon’s Test List” Mailchimp List. Last synchronization date: N/A. Synchronization status: Scheduled for Sync.

Have I done something wrong when setting this up?

    Thanks,
    Simon

Am I asking this in the right place?

I did notice there was an incompatibility between OroCRM 1.8.2 and the MailChimp bundle 1.4.4 as the oro:cron:mailchimp:export command was throwing an exception of:

Regressing to 1.4.2 has fixed the error but it’s still not working.

I’ve also tried upgrading to OroCRM 1.9.6 and 1.5.4 of the MailChimp bundle and it’s not working. What have I done wrong here?

Seems like the final piece of the puzzle was that the mailing list needed to be set up as a ‘Dynamic’ type. This is not clear from the documentation.

Anyway, it seems to – finally – be creating and updating segments MailChimp now.

    Hi Simon,

So you’ve made it work with OroCRM 1.9.6?

I got v1.4.2 of the MailChimp bundle working with 1.8.2 of OroCRM, the newer bundles worked in OroCRM 1.9.6. The main issue I had was that the marketing list type was set to ‘On demand’ rather than ‘Dyanmic’ and on demand marketing lists don’t synchronize. This isn’t mentioned in the documentation, however, and I had to find it in the code.

We will fix it. Thanks for noticing this!
